On July 10, 2026, Pastor Dedi Saputra, who pastors a small Christian community in Indonesia was jailed for two years under blasphemy laws.

He had posted on his TikTok channel a response to a question that someone asked about his conversion from Islam to Christianity. In the course of his answer, he spoke about how, before Mohammed was a prophet, he had one wife and after becoming a prophet had multiple wives.

Despite the verifiable truth of what Pastor Saputra said, he was arrested and convicted for blasphemy under the recommendation of local Islamic leaders.
