In April 2026, Audato and Ieda Denardi were sentenced to fifty days in prison in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Their crime?  The Denardis dared to homeschool their two daughters without teaching state approved courses on gender and sex, and also on tolerance and diversity.  According to a https://adfinternational.org/news/brazilianjudge-sentences-parents-to-prison-for-homeschooling-their-daughters">report by Alliance Defending Freedom, International, “the court also concluded that because the girls, aged 15 and 11, did not like “trap” or “sertanejo” (folk) music, their home curriculum had also failed to properly educate them in cultural diversity, despite the fact that they are both accomplished pianists and speak multiple languages.”  The Denardis are currently engaged in the appeal process.

This story highlights one of the foundational principles of modern totalitarianism - the elimination of parental rights.  The ideological left is firmly committed to the idea that children belong to the state, and that the state is at liberty to override parental decisions, especially in the realm of education.  But the Word of the living God says this:  “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.”  Exodus 20:12.  This is the fifth of the ten commandments - but it is the first among the commands that specify the rights of man.  This commandment applies to the state as equally as to any individual.  Activist judges, legislators, or presidents who violate this divine statute will be held accountable before the judgment seat of Christ.
